Estonia - Saaremaa and Hiiumaa

Off the west coast there are two large islands, Saaremaa and Hiiumaa, and two smaller ones Muhu and Vormsi. Islands are always exciting places to visit because they require a boat trip and the sight of the island drawing nearer as you bob up and down on deck.

Hiiumaa is perfect for a getaway-from-it-all wilderness - there is really not much there at all- and Saaremaa is famed in the country for its wooden windmills and quaint thatched cottages. It too also has a well kept castle to offer any visitor that crosses the water.
